Although not easy to see, the sole plate in this elevation was severely decayed. Evidence for this could be found in the horizontal cracks.
Below you can see how the sole plate looked relatively normal, only showing a few signs of wear, there are things we look out for such as the horizontal cracks mentioned above and once we undertook the repairs, we found the true extents of the damage, the gallery shows detailed images of the damage and the process of the repairs.
