Historic Doors and windows
Historic timber doors and windows can, in nearly all instances, be repaired rather than replaced. Timber joinery will look better, last longer, retain the historic significance and maintain the full heritage and financial value of your period property. Whilst replacement UPVC will in all instances, have the opposite effect on the value of your home, its sustainability and is unenvironmentally sound.

replacement oak door - horsham
An inappropriate softwood door had been fitted to this late medieval house in Horsham. We were charged with designing, constructing and fitting a new appropriate hardwood door. The finished, folded oak door, was not only aesthetically beautiful but also provided security and enhanced thermal efficiancy.

Fire damaged bow window in windsor
A large bow window in the lady-in-waiting quarters at Windsor Castle, had been damaged in a fire. HBC&R was charged with repairing both the roof structure, plaster and lath ceiling and the window and shutters.
Repaired Mullion window
When a decayed modern softwood window became necessary for repair, with permission, HBC&R repaired the original mullion window and fitted new leaded lights.

The ground floor window in the gable of our clients old home, was in a very poor condition and past repair. We made a new window exactly the same as the existing one had been and fitted it.
